National Ambassador Community Beautification Day Network Project Richmond
September 19th
Spend Your Saturday Making Richmond Bloom
If your ideal Saturday includes fresh air, good people, and doing something that actually matters, this is your kind of event.
The National Ambassador Community Beautification Day Network Project Richmond, presented by the Diverse Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is bringing the community together for a hands-on day of service, connection, and transformation. On Saturday, September 19, 2026, volunteers will gather to help beautify the front grounds of Mary Scott Preschool, turning the space into a more vibrant, welcoming environment for local preschoolers.
This is not your average Saturday plan. Instead of errands, screens, or sleeping half the day away, this is a chance to dig into something meaningful. With a little teamwork, a lot of heart, and maybe a bit of dirt on our shoes, we’ll help create an outdoor space that children can enjoy and the community can be proud of.
📅 Event Details
When: Saturday, September 19, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Why Come?
The mission is simple: refresh and revitalize the preschool’s front yard through planting, weeding, clearing debris, and general cleanup. The impact, however, goes far beyond landscaping. This project is about showing love to the Richmond Public School District, supporting local families, and proving that community pride looks best when it is put into action.
Volunteers from all walks of life are invited to join. Local small businesses can use the day to build team spirit while giving back. High school students can earn volunteer hours in a way that feels rewarding and fun. And community members who want to make Richmond even more beautiful are more than welcome to come lend a hand.
Participants will also have the opportunity to connect with fellow residents, students, and business leaders while working alongside Host and Regional Ambassador Dr. Teresa Williams Hicks, whose leadership will help guide the day’s efforts.
The event will take place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with volunteers meeting in front of the main building at Mary Scott Preschool, located at 4011 Moss Side Avenue, Richmond, VA 23222.
So if you have been looking for a meaningful way to spend your Saturday, this is it. Grab your gardening gloves, bring your energy, and come help create a beautiful space for the preschoolers who deserve it most.
On Saturday, September 19, Richmond is rolling up its sleeves — and you are invited.
