Regional Ambassadors Jessica and Peter Flood Support Beautification Efforts at Warwick Historical Cemetery
Warwick, Rhode Island — May 4, 2026 — Regional Ambassadors Jessica Flood and Peter Flood joined the Diverse Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s National Ambassador Community Beautification Day Network Project by volunteering at the historic Warwick Historical Cemetery.
Working alongside fellow volunteers and the Warwick Historical Cemetery Commission, the Floods contributed to a hands-on cleanup and preservation effort focused on restoring the beauty, dignity, and welcoming atmosphere of this important local landmark.
A Day of Service and Civic Pride
The community beautification initiative brought together ambassadors, local volunteers, and preservation supporters committed to honoring Warwick’s history while improving a shared public space. Jessica Flood, recently recognized as the 2026 National Ambassador Chair, and Peter Flood demonstrated the Chamber’s commitment to service, collaboration, and meaningful community engagement.
Key activities included:
Raking leaves: Removing seasonal debris from pathways and green spaces.
Cleaning tombstones: Carefully cleaning and helping preserve weathered grave markers in honor of Warwick’s past residents.
Replacing flowers: Planting fresh blooms to add color and renewed vitality throughout the cemetery grounds.
“We believe in giving back to the communities that support our small businesses,” said Jessica Flood. “Projects like this do more than beautify a space. They help strengthen connections among business owners, residents, volunteers, and the communities we serve.”
Supporting Warwick’s Historic Legacy
The Warwick Historical Cemetery Commission plays an essential role in preserving Rhode Island heritage through the restoration, maintenance, and documentation of more than 100 historic burial sites across Warwick. These locations range from larger established cemeteries to smaller family burial grounds, many of which date back centuries.
The Community Beautification Day Network Project aligned with the Diverse Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s mission to promote inclusivity, entrepreneurship, professional connection, and civic pride.
