Commonwealth Coffee Honoring Black History Month

The Diverse Chamber of Commerce recently participated in the
Commonwealth Coffee honoring Black History Month,
held on February 27, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM
at the Hart Senate Office Building, Room 902, in Washington, DC.

Event Highlights

This event provided a valuable opportunity for community engagement, bringing together faith leaders, government officials, community organizers, civic engagement groups, and community service organizations.

Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, with Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan Congressman Bobby Scott, along with LT Governor Candidate Aaron Rouse were present to engage with attendees and discuss important issues.

The gathering celebrated the contributions of Virginia members of The Divine Nine, a group of historically Black Greek-letter organizations.

The Norfolk University Choir participated in the event, enriching the atmosphere with their musical contributions and further emphasizing the celebration of Black culture and heritage.

The Diverse Chamber of Commerce was represented by Derrick Ziglar Jr., Edward Mosley Jr., and Media Coordinator Nijel Gamble. Their participation underscored the Chamber’s commitment to fostering connections and advocating for the diverse voices within our community.
